Some of my newest work involves hairpin lace. Hairpin lace has been around for hundreds of years but it is normally consigned to doilies and clothing or accessories. I have been exploring different methods of construction and how a change in material (from traditional thread and yarn to metal wires and monofilament) can completely change the structure and appearance.

Below is some of my samples and work in progress. Some final pieces have been entered into competitions and I hope to share some installation sized work in hairpin lace later this year.
